Christmas Cheer Board: A Community of Sharing and Giving

December 8, 2021

Each year, Medicure employees kick off the holiday season by contributing to the Christmas Cheer Board of Greater Winnipeg.

The Christmas Cheer Board was started by a number of Winnipeg churches after the end of World War One with the original intention of providing Christmas hampers and toys for the widows and orphans of the war. With the realization that there were many other families in Winnipeg in need of help around the holidays, their project continued to grow and in the mid-forties, the churches combined forces to form The Christmas Cheer Board of Greater Winnipeg.

Each holiday season, volunteers wrap almost 20 000 gifts and deliver over 16 000 hampers to families in need across Winnipeg.

We are proud to be able to support The Christmas Cheer Board and help Winnipeg's community effort to provide support during the holiday season.
