Medicure Announces Appointment of New CFO

WINNIPEG, Sept. 22, 2011 /CNW/ - Medicure Inc. ("Medicure" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:MPH.H) is pleased to announce that Mr. James Kinley, CA has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Company effective September 21, 2011. Mr. Kinley replaces Dawson Reimer, who has served as Chief Financial Officer in an interim capacity since July 15, 2011. Mr. Reimer continues to serve as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. The appointment of Mr. Kinley is subject to regulatory approval.

James Kinley, CA currently serves as Vice President, Finance at Genesys Venture Inc. (GVI), where he is responsible for the financial operations of GVI and its client companies. Previous to GVI, Mr. Kinley was Manager, Financial Reporting at Manitoba Telecom Services Ltd. (MTS), a large Canadian telecommunications firm. He was involved in all aspects of financial reporting for MTS including the preparation, review and distribution of external publicly disclosed financial statements and the conversion from Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Mr. Kinley also has experience working with smaller public companies, having provided financial reporting for a number of real estate investment trusts (REITs) from 2006 to 2008. Mr Kinley is a Chartered Accountant and holds a B.Comm (Honours) degree from the I.H. Asper School of Business (University of Manitoba).

Mr. Kinley provides services to Medicure under the Company's ongoing administrative and management services contract with GVI.
